Where AI is still lacking and where to learn agents for free

For the new folks - welcome to your weekly digest on AI Agents, drawn from the most popular AI Agents forum in the world. This week’s top posts are about what still sucks, where you can learn about agents for free, and more of what still sucks.

Special Announcements

We also did an AMA with LiquidMetal AI, a startup that just raised 25M.

  1. AI Use Cases that still suck

    1. OP lists five AI use cases he thinks still suck

    2. They are: AI SDRs, AI for “creatives”, AI for consultants, AI coding agents, and AI customer service

    3. I agree for some of them (why would I want to talk to an AI? for SDRs and customer service)

    4. AI for coding is ~ok~, like you can build simple projects with it and people are forking over money, but wow it’s expensive to build anything of substance

  2. Where to learn agents for free?

    1. Here’s some resources

      1. HuggingFace - https://huggingface.co/docs/smolagents/en/index

      2. Free credits for Gemini - https://aistudio.google.com/

      3. Anthropic - https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/building-effective-agents

  3. Automation is still dependent on your data

    1. AI is not a silver bullet

    2. If companies really had nice data like they claim, the AI process automation and AI Agents sector would actually take the field by storm as the companies claim

  1. Maxim AI - a platform for testing AI (this was also something I mentioned in my article on the 2025 LLM App Stack!)

  2. No other projects got upvotes last week, sad
